A day in the life of Meme Research

nickdouglas:

The only thing sadder than spending hundreds of words investigating a meme is… wait, isn’t that what all of us do all fucking day?

Is it? I hope not, but then I don’t really know what “bloggers” (that is, people who actually write that word on their tax forms), or “writers” or “social media experts” or “brand builders” or whatever actually do with themselves all day. As I say, I hope it’s not this meme business, for their sake. That sounds boring and tedious.

I just read about stuff. And sometimes, if I feel like it, write some software.
